Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, Global Head of Chinmaya Mission, met Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to extend an invitation for the inauguration of the grand culmination of the Mission’s 75-year celebrations as part of the Chinmaya Amrit Mohotsav. The event is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from October 23 to 25, 2026. Pujya Swamiji was accompanied by Swami Mitrananda.
The Prime Minister appreciated the invitation and fondly recalled his meeting with Swami Chinmayananda, in Vadodara, Gujarat, in the early 1990s, reflecting on the Mission’s enduring contribution to spiritual and cultural awakening.
During the interaction, Pujya Swamiji shared an overview of the Mission’s global initiatives being undertaken as part of the 75-year celebrations. These include the Gita Panchamrit initiative, Global Samashti Gita Chanting, Samashti Hanuman Chalisa Havans, the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra across Bharat, the Europe Thames Ganga Aarti, and several outreach programmes aimed at sharing the wisdom of Vedanta and encouraging collective spiritual participation worldwide.
Pujya Swamiji also presented the Prime Minister with a special collection of Chinmaya publications, along with the newly released Hindi Gita musical album composed by Maestro Ilayaraaja.
The upcoming culmination event in New Delhi is envisioned as a landmark gathering, commemorating Chinmaya Mission’s 75-year journey of spiritual service, cultural resurgence, and contribution to nation-building.
